It has been an interesting
week here in Riverside. I guess that as an office elder, it is always
interesting since you get to witness the "behind-the-scenes" of it all.
Anyways:
Monday- After we E-mailed, we
went shopping and had dinner. Afterward, our appointment fell through so
we tried to stop by some people but not much luck. We were able to meet
with the Cincwitch's (the spelling is probably slaughtered) a LA that
the Relief Society President asked us to stop by. She is busy but
alright. Then, we planned for the next day.
Tuesday- After
studies, we had our weekly DDM meeting. It was a super good one about
charity and love for those you serve. Our DL, Elder Zung from China, is
super cool. Our district is called, "The Zeng Dynasty" led by Emperor
Zeng.
We
got our Cruze taken away and were put temporalily put in the Silverado
again. After lunch, we went on trying people but only got in with
Michael Walt, who we have been working with for a while. He is learning
but isn't really keeping any of his commitments at all. There is some
work to do with him. Then, we had Sis Cristoles drop off dinner and ate
at the Institute building. After, we saw the Pasillas' (LA/PMF) and
Elder Stabler got ready for exchanges tomorrow. Then, we planned for the next day.
Wednesday- We
had exchanges. I stayed in my area with Elder Merriman from Syracuse,
Utah. He goes home next transfer but won't except it. I don't blame him.
We get along so well because he is also a track nerd like myself. Then,
we got swapped again and we got a white 2013 Ford Fusion with so called
"transmission problems" and Elder Cook (Vehicle Coordinator) wanted us
to keep an eye on it to see if there is anything really wrong with it.
After lunch, we met up with Yvonne ( who is getting baptized on the 7th of May)
and Mike Butler who is only showing academic curiosity. Then, we went
back to the office because the last set of sisters in the Fusion left
their stuff so we went to return all their stuff. We had dinner at the
Institute again and everyone was shocked that we had a different car
. After dinner, not much happened then we exchanged back and reviewed. Then, we planned for the next day.
Thursday- Today
was a really exciting day. The mission got 3 brand new 2016 Nissan
Rouges and guess who got to go pick them up straight from the
dealership?!?!?!
.
I actually had to take Elder Merriman again because Elder Stabler
doesn't have a license. The shocking part of it all... I drove ALONE
.
It was weird, yet not the first time. Office life is great! After that
we had lunch and did our weekly planning until dinner with the Bishop.
Then, we went walking for the rest of the night and then we planned for
the next day.
Friday- We had some car registrations to renew in Moreno Valley. I even went to my old apartment when I was there
. I miss Mo-Val
.
Anyway after lunch all of our appointments fell through but we had a
great dinner with Sister Jurls. Elder Stabler brought out the whole "I
will be getting transferred soon" on her. Even though it will probably
happen since he has been there for 6 months, I hate it when people do
that
. But it's ok since it will 99% happen. Then, we planned for the next day.
Saturday- We
had blitz for the Canyon Crest Sisters and I went walking with Elder
Leiniger, who is deaf so I did all the talking, but it was fun anyway.
After lunch the trend of nobody home continued but we were able to talk
to a few people around them so that's good. Then we ate dinner and tried
more people with not much luck. I was feeling a little sick so we went
home a little early to rest, after planning for the next day
Sunday- Was Fast Sunday.
It was good. It was the Ward Conference Review that I wasn't here for
so it was a little awkward. However, there had been a new member move in
and he happened to grow up in the same ward as one of my companions
(Elder Dunn). Small world. After church the Best's dropped off some
dinner for us and we were able to pick up a new investigator named Dave!
We have been trying to pick him up for the whole transfer. Then, we
planned for the next day.
Today- We
played basketball as always plus dodgeball. The Zone Leaders brought one
of their YSA investigators and he is a total baller! In more ways than
one. Then, we ate lunch, got cleaned up and now E-mailing.
This
transfer is coming to a close. I have been out for 10 months now have
been in Riverside for 3. The mission really flies by if you aren't
paying attention. Well, I love you all, remember that.
Until Next Time...
